Frank Caprio - Chair

Term Expires: January 31, 2011

Frank was appointed Chair in January 2003 and reappointed in 2005. He was appointed to the Board in October 1997 to fill a vacancy, was reappointed in 2002, having previously served on the Board from 1992 to 1995. He is the Chief Judge of the Municipal Court of Providence and a senior partner in Caprio and Caprio Law Offices. Mr. Caprio has a bachelor's degree from Providence College and a LL.B. from Suffolk University. Judge Caprio chairs the Facilities Committee and is ex officio a member of all committees.


Kenneth Aurecchia

Appointed to the Board: 2003
Term Expires: January 31, 2009
Ken was appointed to the Board in 2003 and was elected Secretary in 2004. He is the business manager for Plumbers and Pipefitters, Local 51. Mr. Aurecchia holds an associate's degree in Applied Science and Technical Studies from CCRI. He chairs the Government Relations Committee and serves on the Facilities Committee.


Kathrin Belliveau

Appointed to the Board: 2006
Term Expires: January 31, 2009

Kathrin Belliveau was appointed to the Board in 2006. She is the Managing Attorney for Commercial and Global Operations at Hasbro, Inc. Ms. Belliveau has a bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College and she earned her J.D. from Boston College Law School.


Brandon F. Brown

Appointed to the Board: 2008
Term Expires: January 31, 2010

Brandon F. Brown was appointed to the board in 2008 for a two-year term.  He is the student representative of the Board.  Brandon is attending the University of Rhode Island with a dual major in Sociology and Political Science and a dual minor in African American Studies and Nonviolence & Peace Studies.


Robert G. Flanders, Jr.

Appointed to the Board: 2007
Term Expires: January 31, 2009
Robert G. Flanders, Jr. was appointed to the Board in 2007.  He is the Chair of the State Board of Regents and a partner in the law firm of Hinckley, Allen & Snyder LLP.  He is a former Rhode Island Supreme Court Justice, and a graduate of Brown University and Harvard Law School.


Joseph Hagan

Appointed to the Board: 2006
Term Expires: January 31, 2010
Joseph Hagan was appointed to the Board in 2006. He is President Emeritus at Assumption College and former president of Roger Williams University . Dr. Hagan holds a bachelor’s degree from Providence College , a master’s degree from Boston University , and he earned his Ed.D. and D.Min. from the Graduate Theological Foundation


Pierre LaPerriere

Appointed to the Board: 2003
Term Expires: January 31, 2011
Pierre was appointed to the Board in 2003 to fill a vacancy and was reappointed in 2004. He is vice president and corporate director of human resources with the Gilbane Building Co. Mr. La Perriere holds a bachelor's degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University and a MBA from Byrant College. He serves on the Personnel Committee.


Thomas Rockett

Appointed to the Board: 2003
Term Expires: January 31, 2009
Thomas was appointed to the Board in 2003. He is a consultant and free-lance author since retiring in 2000 after having served in various teaching and administrative positions for 30 years at URI. Dr. Rockett holds a bachelor's degree from Tufts University, a master's degree from Boston College and a Ph.D. from the The Ohio State University. He serves on the Academic and Student Affairs, the Finance and Management and, the Government Relations Committees.


Daniel Ryan

Appointed to the Board: 2002
Term Expires: January 31, 2011
Dan was appointed to the Board in 2002 and was reappointed in 2005. He is a CPA with his own practice specializing in independent tax and accounting consulting. Mr. Ryan holds a MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He chairs the Personnel Committee and serves on the Finance and Management Committee.


Michael F. Ryan

Appointed to the Board: 1997
Term Expires: January 31, 2006
Michael was appointed to the Board in 1997, reappointed in 2000 and 2003, and elected Vice Chair in 2003. He is the President of Rhode Island Distribution for National Grid. Mr. Ryan has a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Rhode Island College. He chairs the Finance and Management Committee and is ex officio a member of all committees.


Solomon A. Solomon

Appointed to the Board: 2003
Term Expires: January 31, 2009
Solomon was appointed to the Board in 2003. He retired in 2002 after serving in various administrative and teaching positions for 35 years at CCRI. Mr. Solomon holds a bachelor's degree from Bryant College and a master's degree from URI. He serves on the Academic and Student Affairs, the Facilities and Personnel Committees and is one the Board's designees to the Rhode Island Higher Education Assistance Authority.
