  • Students transferring Law Department credits from CCRI to RIC Political Science Department may only transfer a combined maximum of fifteen (15) hours of Law and Political Science courses to the thirty (30) hour Political Science major at RIC.

    PRIOR LEARNING

    The Community College of Rhode Island, the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College agree to accept 
    as transfer credits those credits awarded by either institution through the assessment of a student’s military experience or through the assessment of other prior learning experiences as documented in a student’s portfolio.

    College-Level Examination Program

    Students can take tests through the College-Level Examination Program if they believe they have learned the equivalent knowledge to a college-level course through prior study, professional experience, or independent study. The tests are divided into the General Examinations and subject examinations. Students earning at least the score listed on the chart below, will be granted credit at the instittuion where they are matriculated. Credit earned through the CLEP exam is transferable among CCRI, RIC, and URI. Students interested in the CLEP examinations should consult their advisor, or the institution’s CLEP coordinator.
