
Ron Cavallaro was appointed General Counsel in December 2006 to provide legal advice to the Board of Governors and to the Commissioner of Higher Education. Previously, Cavallaro worked as a legal counsel for the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training from 1985 to 2006, in addition to owning a private practice from 1987 to 2005. He has also been teaching at the Southern New England School of Law since 1995.
Cavallaro received a bachelor’s degree from Boston College before completing a law degree at Boston University, where he later returned to receive a master’s in banking law. He currently lives in East Greenwich with his wife and son.
