Functions

Assist Commissioner in coordinating strategic planning activities;
Review and develop recommendations regarding program offerings from the public institutions, proprietary schools, and regulated independent institutions;
Provide regulatory oversight to proprietary schools and veterans program;
Monitor academic programs for duplication, quality, and productivity;
Coordinate system-wide articulation and transfer;
Oversee federal and state grants related to academic programs;
Collect federal data for IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System);
Disseminate system-wide data;
Develop, update and monitor academic and student policies;
Align academic standards with PK-12;
Act as liaison to Data Warehouse system;
Develop system-wide student leadership;
Coordinate and oversee academic technology investment initiatives.
